whirlpool dryer metal on metal sounds?

I just got a used dryer. It heats up great but it makes an awfull metal to metal screeching sound. Is there a video that can help me fix it myself.

I can not seem to find a diagram on that model.
Is this a USA model whirlpool dryer?

Most often if you remove the dryer drum you will be able to see what is rubbing and making the noise. It will be something that come in contact with the edge of the drum.

When it's a metal on metal sounds there will often be metal filings around the problem area too.

Also if it's a model with drum rollers, then one of the rollers my just be dry or need replacing.

If so turn the two back drum rollers by hand to see if they make any noise.

Also check the belt idler pulley. Just turn it by hand to see if it's noisy.

If they are you can try to oil them or they may need to be replaced.

I fixed it! I did it myself and saved a bundle. You are the best I dont even know exactly what I did. lol I opend it usng you instructiuonal video. Cleaned the motor and lint in there. I lubercated the little wheels and put it back togeather making shure the drum was in place. I also used a photo you have to figure out how the beld winds through the little spinning wheels. It was pretty easy thank you. It purrs like a kitten.

I would guess that one of the rollers was a little dry.

What a great site!   I too had a screeching issue and because of the already posted photos was able to disassemble,diagnose and repair the dryer. My issue was dust accumulation and the motor bearings were a bit dry so I put a dot of oil on the shaft and I'm good for a while longer. Most likely I wasn't suposed to oil it but now I don't need a new dryer just yet. Thanks for the great info on here.
