Maytag Dishwasher Latch

Dishwasher latch does not operate as usual.
It must be pressed all the way in to eventually open door.
Afraid it won't be long before that won,t work.
Is this an easy fix or do I keep a crowbar handy?

If you are capable of removing the 7 or so screws from around the inside of the door, then replacing the latch is a breeze. It comes as a complete unit, with handle attached. Just transfer the 2 door switch wires to the new latch and you in business!

Be sure to shut off the power first, cause the door switches are hot at all times.

Received part today. (latch)  Before installing the part, I was looking at it and there is very little movement or latch movement in it.    Is this a situation where the handle only works when engaged.
I just don't want to install a defective part.

It does not move...just slap it in there and see. If it doesn't work, send it back.
