Kenmore Gas Dryer Series 70
« on: May 13, 2009, 03:46:50 PM »
I have a Kenmore Gas Dryer Model 110.70722990. I just changed the thermostat, that however was not the problem.

When you first start the dryer it will run fine. After the heat shuts of the first or second time, the ignitor will turn on but the gas will not. It makes a funny sound, (almost sounds like a screw bouncing around).
I have cleaned out all the lint from the vent, inside the dryer, etc.

I now have the feeling it is the gas valve coils, though I do not wish to buy anymore parts unless I know that is what it is..

Thanks

Also, if the dryer is not in timed dry the dryer will not shut off.. It will run and run..

It must heat for the timer to advance in the Auto dry cycle. Your initial suspicion was correct...the valve coils need to be replaced. Go getcha some...and quit bitchin about buying parts you don't need. Had you checked here first, coulda saved you some dinero.

The coils you listed, are those the ones I need? Not sure what the kit part number would be...
