filter bypass plug

Greetings,

I have a Kenmore side by side.
Date of manufacture Nov. 2000
I am looking for the water filter bypass plug. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

When I looked up your model number I see the water filter is located in the grill at the bottom of the refrigerator.

This type does not have a bypass plug. I believe you can just run it without a filter in it.

If you remove the filter does the water dispenser still work?

I haven't hooked up the water line to it yet. I don't want to go through the trouble to hook up the water line if i can't bypass the filter. But if what you say is true, that it can run without the filter, thats good news.. how can i confimr this?

For models with the filter in the lower grill when the filter is removed a valve at the filter housing automatically bypasses the filter system.
