frgidere dryer
« on: May 06, 2009, 07:18:03 AM »
Hi, my Frigidaire FSE447GHS0 dryer's top back is overheating, it is hot to the touch, while the clothes don't dry, so I took the dryer top of, and I saw that pieces of white plastic looking band, that is riding on the drum broken of. I wonder how easy is to replace that and what the procedure would be? Is there a part number for it? I'm also not sure whether the thermostat is working properly. Thanks

The drum may not be turning the belt may be broken and the glide kit probably needs replacing.

Reach in there and turn the drum by hand. It should be VERY easy to turn.

I have seen alot of these dryers getting hot on the top from poor air circulation. The intake port gets very clogged and therefore resticting the airflow, the heat will not circulate/ get sucked in the dryer, and will just rise to the top of the dryer.
