Kenmore Elite Washer will not Spin

Alright, I have the above model number Kenmore Elite Washer.  Here is the problem, the machine will fill and agitate just as it should.  But when it comes to pumping the water out and spinning there is nothing.  I have checked the lid switch and even jumped the terminals so that is not the issue.  The motor coupling is fine and works (agitates normal).  

At first I thought this was the timer but, the timer will advance and it sounds like it is working.  I also checked the wiring and it doesn't look as thought the wires are burnt up.

I am confused, can the timer still be bad (even though it is advancing and clicking)? Can the wiring harness be bad?  I assume it is one of these but need help in narrowing down.  

I don't want to just buy a timer and still have the same problems.

Has anyone had this problem?

Have you checked for a garment stuck between tubs?
Have you checked the clutch/brake?

No I did not check that because the motor is not running.  It is only running when the timer is on the agitate cycle.

If no garment is stuck and the motor is not running and the lid switch is good, the timer is bad.
