Whirlpool Washer - Washer will not pump out or spin

Complaint: The washer is full of water and will not pump out. When the timer is advanced to the spin cycle it will not spin. You can not hear the motor running during the drain or spin cycle.

I lifted the washer lid up and noticed that I did not hear the lid switch click.
If the lid switch is working you can hear it click on and off as you open and close the washer lid.

When the washer is working correctly it will not drain or spin with the lid open. Being the lid switch was bad on this washer it was acting as if the lid was open all the time even when the lid was closed.

I replaced the lid switch with a new one and once again the washer would drain the water and spin the cloths.

  my washer is doing the same thing, but i replaced the lid switch and it still doesn't work. can you tell me what now!!!!!!!!!! oh, i have a whirlpool. it goes through all the cycle when it comes around to spin it does nothing.
