Yes, it's probably worth fixing, simply because it is probably a blown Defrost Board or a bad temp control. Both parts are located under the top control panel. There's a servce manual around here someplace to show you how to remove the control panel and damper housing. It has to be completely removed and unplugged to check the ADC board and the temp control, which naturally were mounted in the far right corner
Either part costs less than $100. so I consider this a very good investment. My 2 cents is on the temp control, but if it were my box,
I'd change both while I was in there. Maytag's biggest failure on these (besides the Embraco compressor relay) was the Adaptive Defrost board failure.
