Hotpoint dishwasher won't drain

I have a hotpoint dishwasher that is only 4 months old. IT stopped draining, so the selenoid was replaced. It still will not drain.  The plunger moves up and down and it gets very hot after one cycle. The selenoid that was replased was burned so bad, the plunger was covered with black stuff
