Hi, I read every post I could find on the MAH series washer. You guys have given out a lot of good advice! I've spent my entire adult life working as a consumer electronics technician. Never employed as an appliance technician but have fixed my share of friends and families units over the last 40 years.
My problem is very intermittent but is starting to get worse. In a nutshell, the washer would stop occasionally by itself at the start of the #2 rinse cycle. Now its got to the point that it can stop just about anywhere. I noticed that it did not appear to be filling sometimes. During one failure, I was able to meter the voltage on the Control Board outputs that drive the cold and hot valves. I found neither had the required 120vac. Also during one failure the cold valve would not open but the hot would. It also sputtered one of the water valves on and off about 3 fast times on one occasion.
I checked both section of the pressure switch and they appear to be OK as well as the 3 series balance switches. I'm guessing that the control board is the only thing that can cause one or both water valves not to open. There is no sign of heat or water on the control board, but I haven't had the cabinet open far enough to see the motor control board.
Before I buy a new control board I wanted your valued opinion. Also, I'm painfully aware that it is 10 years old, but it has had an easy life of about 3 or 4 loads a week. It has also had several mods made while it was under warranty. But I do plan to check the color of the wax motor before ordering the board.
Thanks in advance,
Kevin
