Maytag Dryer Squeaking Noise

Dryer had a broken blower wheel, replaced that and now after 20 min of use it squeeks loudly off and on.  Could this be a roller wheel?

Yes, that or the belt idler wheel.

If you can't find it right away you may have to run the dryer until it heats up and starts making the noise.

Then take it apart and give each roller a spin by hand to see what one is making the noise.

Most of the time I find it's the one above the heating element.

Did you put that little horseshoe clip back on there. If not, the dang new blower might have slid forward and is rubbing.

I got the clip on there ok, I found out that there was a squeeling problem before the broken blower wheel issue.  I have looked at replacing rollers and the tumblers as well.  Then it reccommends the front glides.  So all including a new belt would be 90 bucks.  Anything else you can think of while I am ordering?  It is a good dryer and think work the money.  So far have put in 35 with wheel.  Thanks

You could use some high temp resistant evaporation resistant zoomspout oil. (2$ at any ace hardware store) Oil the rollers and idler and see if the squeal disapears. The glides will make a scraping noise like bad break shoes on the rear of a car when they start to get thin and get metal to metal contact. That squeal is probably the wheel closest to the heat source. While you is at it clean any lint out the dryer to prevent it from overheating.  If the vent pipe is clogged the wheel closest to it will tend to squeal.

Got the zoomspout and oiled the idler wheel, then the rollers.  The left roller was the squeeler and was very free in rolling and had lots of rust dust.  The right roller was very hard to turn and after oil was still very stiff.  Any thoughts?  I have it running now not sure how long it will go before squeeling.  Or if the right roller being so tight is an issue.  Thank you.

Remove the old roller, clean up the shaft and install a new roller.

AJ is right, replace that roller if you can. Boy those rollers are high priced. I would use a little sand cloth to smooth up the shaft and then oil that roller again before buying anything though. That is just me.
