hidden bake element

Have any of the techs out there noticed that when ever you go on a maytag range call that has the hidden bake element and the element is blown you have about a 75% chance that the clock is pooched also .Ouch it cost our customer lots of money !

Yes, we've experienced this, but not just on the hidden element models. More than likely this is because a hidden element cannot be seen if it shorts out, and people try running the oven again and again to make it work. On the normal ovens that have exposed elements, a visible spot on the element is a dead giveaway.
