Using Floodsafe Hoses with New Matag Cabrio

I tried using these Floodsafe braided stainless steel safety hoses when the new washer arrived the other day and we could not get water to flow through them.  So I hooked it up using the OEM rubber ones.  I brought the hoses back to HD and the appliance guy said they will work, that I should try again, but slowly open the wall-mounted bronze safety valve rather than just opening it.  I don't get it... I would have expected the safety valve to be open to pressurized water and when the water rushes too fast through it it would shut it down at the wall connection.

I'm going to try again this morning, and I thought that maybe I should pour some water in the the hoses before connecting to the valve?

From what I have read elsewhere, these are not such a great product. Among the posts I saw included this one:

Just bought these ridiculous hoses. 4 trips to HOme Depot, now a fifth one to take back. Floodsure hoses, whoops I mean Floodsafe Hoses from Watts. I am wet, my floor is wet, my laundry is dry. Water will not go in , just google floodsafe hoses and see hundreds of comments all looking for the zero star or neg rating. Yikes what a mess. I was about to take my new $800 washer back ,,,but nooooo we don't need no stinkin hoses...GAD.

The concept is great but the flow rate is so slow.

Could we get the model number of your new washer?
Cabrio is not a model number. The model number can be found on the model/serial number tag under the washer lid.
