Kitchenaid stand mixer

Hi,

I have a Kitchenaid stand mixer, which I thought was supposed to be a pretty good brand.  It didn't last too long, though.  I'm guessing the problem is the switch because it only runs on high speed.  Nothing happens until the switch gets to the highest setting.

Any ideas on whether it is salvageable?

I'm not sure about yours, but on mine, the motor that turns the bowl,,,yeah, a separate one,, burned up after about a month of use.

After hours on the net, trying to find the replacement parts site for kitchenaid, I finally found it,, and the part number,, only to be informed that the part was obsolete.

By the way,,, the same mixer is still being sold. 

Some parts are available, but remember,, it's made in China, so the parts may be hard to get shipped correctly.
