Extended Drying Times

Hope someone might have an idea for us! Our LG DLE7177WM dryer is going through its drying time very quickly, even when trying the longest cycles.  Having to run 2 or 3 times to get items thoroughly dry.  Also noticed that the display "always" shows "cooling" and not sure if this is how it is supposed to be.  We've already taken the dryer apart and cleaned all the venting (only marginal improvement) so wondering heating element, thermostat or sensor most likely? Or something else? Appreciate any suggestions!

When I look at the LG dryer manual on this forum, it gives you several ways to test the dryer, including a diagnostic test for each component. Rather than us trying to guess what could be wrong, you could be exploring this all yourself, with your trusty meter, of course.

The fact that you see the 'cooling" displayed means it is not heating but going thru a cool-down procedure. This could be a bad sensor or a bad control, but the manual tells you how to determine which.
