Hi,

80 series is not a model number.
Could you post the full model number for us?

It should be on the model/serial number tag located on the dryer.

The tag maybe inside the door.

Mod # 11070832990

Is this correct?
I had my daughter read it off the inside of the dryer.

Bev, I'll give you a quick tip on how to spot the problem without further assistance from us at the moment...use the Search button on the left and type "Kenmore gas dryer won't heat" in the box. It will show you all the scores of topics we have already helped others with, and you may get  some clues as to what is involved in checking it out. This has been covered nine ways to Sunday :)

If your fuse is blown due to excessive lint then your gas assembly won't work at all. The fuse is located in the rear on the blower housing right next to the control thermostat. The dryer will run so you might think that the fuse is ok. For locations and pics of dryer fuses and alot more good stuff check out my page:

Hey thanks so much for the info.  You probably saved me a bunch of money if this is the case.  If not, I will be bugging you tomorrow.

I will check when I get home tonight.
Thanks again and have a great day!!
