I would dearly love to know the status of Doug Emley. Are any of you familiar with his work? I am thinking about writing a book. Anybody know the dude? Any thoughts?

When I decided to transition from handyman work to appliance repair, I used these manuals.

I downloaded them, formatted them, and printed them out double-sided.

Got junk machines & tore 'em down and put 'em back together.

I still have the book somewhere in my truck.

If they were done by Douglas Emley, then he was my uncle harry!

'Course, now I have Uncle ApplianceJunk.com

some of the very first repair books i ever had. had the cartoon looking characters on the front. was a lot of good repair info in those manuals for a green delivery man that wanted to learn repairs. i wish i had those back loaned to a guy who i thought had some promise to become tech. he got fired a few weeks later haven't seen em since

Confused?  Me too.

The website covers the basics (no frontload, sigh).  I copied them, formatted them and printed them out so I could bind them.

Great info, and got me through the most basic stuff, plus gave me a taste for more.

Here I am.  Now I just need to get to know control boards.  Anybody have a brain download for the guy from fixyourboard?

If Mr. Emley was responsible for that info, then he is in my prayers.  If he is still around, I'm still waiting for frontloaders and micros!  ;D
