maytag washer rubbing sound during spin cycle

trying to help- out family here , fixed my washer so they figure i'm the expert now!ha!
maytag heavy duty , commercial quality washer approx 5 years old , is making a rubbing noise during the spin cycle . not grinding like metal on metal , sounds like plastic rubbing on plastic , possibly coming from the tub ?
all other functions are fine and clothes come out normal .

searched the forum for awhile for similar problems , came up with nuthin' .

Give up...it is an expensive, and very tedious repair, involving special tools. Your tub bearings have failed, which is all I need to say about the matter. Be a hero and get a new washer instead


And hey..about that term "Commercial Duty" you see on machines. If there was ever a reason to sue a company for misrepresentation, this is a good start. Unfortunately, the big corporations have better lawyers than you and me, so it is fruitless.

How about getting a SMALL package of laundry soap, A Starbucks small? Even Burger king now has changed the sizes to Value,Small,Medium etc. I worked in a grocery store to put myself through trade school, WOW. Even the washer tubs are Family(standard) & Super capacity(large) tubs now.They want you to feel you are getting something for nothing.
