How did you hear about ApplianceJunk.com?
« on: March 26, 2009, 10:34:50 AM »
AJ personally contacted me one day asking if I could help him out with some computer programming for the site.

I was more then happy too. :)

AJ don't need much help with programming anymore these day's and he may very well know more then I do about computers at this point, but I'm still happy to stick around and help out in the forums anyway I can.

The word about ApplianceJunk.com is really getting around.

So how did you hear about ApplianceJunk.com?

Did you search Google or Yahoo and found it?

Maybe you seen one of AJ's Cards or seen it on a ApplianceJunk Pen?

Did a a friend or family member let you know about the site?

So how did you hear about us?

I think it was Yahoo I found it on.
Don't remember just what I was searching for, but it was something to do with appliance repair.

As a top contributer for Y/A maintenance and repairs I was invited by AJ to participate. I am old school retired and not too up on the more modern appliances. I have learned a great deal about the newer stuff on this site.
May the hinges of our friendship
        never grow rusty.

About the icons: The beer is tip link, if a tech saves ya some money buy em a 6 pack. The small green square=personal message. The green dot is a link to my web page on appliance repair and other general BS I love to post. The letter sends me email.

I have been servicing appliances for 30 years and needed some information on a newer machine. I was doing factory service for all but GE. Stopped doing warranty (low pay,was a pain) I was searching for appliance information on the new machines to keep up and there it was. Still learning !

Was looking for a service manual for a whirlpool dishwasher and found the site . As a tech for over 30 years your not to old to learn something new . I do have to admit though ,the job is getting harder all the time . I find customer expectations are too high ..the product is over engineered and the quality has gone into the crapper . It was fun 20 years ago but not so fun today .

Just like Rah52 i was also looking for a service manual and came across this site. After 35 + years of servicing  in the UK and USA i find the quality of appliances has dropped dramatically.I guess its a world wide problem or job security  ;D

Hi Invicta,

You have worked in the UK and USA?

Very interesting. Care to share a little more with us?
You are back in the USA now?

35+ years, that's a long time.
Hope you find our site helpful.

AJ came on my website.  I had to check out his.  This is really a great site.  Even for a lady who doesn't do repairs (I leave all that to the men folk) this site is a wealth of information.  I just read about the fire hazards of plastic dryer tubing.  I'll have to tell the men folk to change ours.

The other day two friends were talking about their water filters in their fridge.  I'll have to tell them to check out this site.

I used Google and entered "Kenmore" and a brief description of my washer's problem. I believe it was "will not spin."
