Frigidaire water draining

Hello everyone.  I'm new here  so take it easy on me if I had posted in the wrong section.  

I have a frigidire Model fws933fs2 and just today when it was filling up I noticed that the water was draining out before it had time to start agitating (spelling).  It isn't leaking out of the washer itself but rather leaking down the drain pipe too soon.  I was wondering if there is some sort of gasket or something that has gone bad, or what could be the problem?  

Is this a common problem with these machines?

is your drain hose on the floor going to a floor drain?
if the drain hose goes to a standpipe on the wall, how high is this pipe? it should be the same height as the lid of the washer

water comming out of the drain hose when the machine is not running is caused by gravity

Thanks for responding. 

It is going into a floor drain, but it had just recently started doing this.  How can I find out if it is just gravity?  Simply by raising the drain pipe higher than the washer and see if it stops draining??

And if that doesn't work then, would there maybe be a seal or something that has gone bad on the pump itself??

Not a seal problem. The water is siphoning due to ; too low a drain hose or no air gap into drain line.

Thanks a lot.  Whenver I get home i'll hold the pipe above the water level and see if it stops the problem.

Having the water drain into a washtub, sitting right beside the washwer would also take care of this problem, correct?

Only if the top of the drain hose is as high as the lid of the washer.
The top of the drain should be a minimum of 33 inches. This is for all washers not just yours.

Thanks a lot.  I thought I was going to to have to take apart the washer and "try" to fix it.  But by the sounds of it, it is an easy fix.
