amana waterpump wont come off

ok  so   my belt  on this washer got  destroyed   and ive followed all the  directions for replacing this   but  my problem  is that the water pump will not come off the motor  i have removed the three torx screw  n thought it would jsut come apart thats how you all make it sound anyway  but alas  no  ive even tried to pry it apart  n  it is  stuck so bad that  it wont even pry apart  any suggestion  other than buy a new washer???

That dang pump just typically does NOT want to come off there too easy. Get mean with it. Use some rust buster and let it soak a while.

Here's the skinny:

You ain't getting that pump off of there because when the old belt wore out, it also overheated the steel motor pulley and the shaft going into the pump. This literally bonds the plastic pump shaft to the steel motor shaft. You will have to order a new pump and chisel the old one off.

My guess is that if this machine was making a growling noise during the spin cycle before you noticed the broken belt, then you have much worse problems than a belt & pump. If this is indeed the case, drop what you are doing and go shopping for a new machine.

thanks all that replied well  off to the store we go  i  totally  bent the motor belt pulley thing  by trying to pry    oh well wife is happy gets to go shopping..........sigh
