OLD MAYTAG WASHER STOPPED AGITATING

OLD tank of a Maytag Washer stopped mid-agitation cycle.
Will fill with water now and nothing else.
Changed fuse at lid switch, it looked fine.
Changed little white clicking switch in the lid switch harness.
Still will fill but nothing else.
Thinking timer???  Entire Lid Switch harness???
OHM reader on block wire labeled L1 - where do I test- Iread look for LS on lid switch harness but cannot find...

Check the micro switch located next to the lid switch for proper continuity.
They tend to stick with age.

What happens if you set the machine to final spin and turn it on?

The lid switch and check switches could have easily been ruled out by checking continuity thru them using the diagram right there in the top.  Now that you have replaced them instead, you are staring at a timer problem. This particular timer controls not only the voltage to the motor, but the Neutral circuit to it as well. Either contact is apt to go out.

So, nothing happens if I set timer selector on anything other than fill.
Looking at plunger and unbalance.
Where do I take meter readings on timer to determine if it is caput?

To rule out the timer, first rule out the lid switch. If it has contiruity where it should, the timer is automatically the problem.

The wiring diagram is right in front of you in the console, so you should be able to tell which circuits run to the motor if you are electrically inclined. If not, hire someone.
