how do you remove evaporator plate

the evaporator plate on the back wall of this refrig has two plugs and behind that are two spacer standoffs.
to remove the plugs do they simply pry out? and is there a screw behind them do I just remove the screws to pop the plate off?
I'm trying to see if the bulb on the end of the capilary tube has come loose from its support.
the unit is freezing up.
right now I have it unplugged and I'm defrosting it.

I would not advise yanking anything out the wall of the ice box. You hear a hiss and it is shopping time. Let it thaw out and check the heater for continuity. Note: the bi-metal(defrost thermostat) at room temp will be open. Generally speaking the bi-metal closes the defrost circuit when the temp gets to be 25°F in the freezer. When the heater comes on and the air inside the evaporator compartment gets to 50°F that bi-metal shuts down the heater but the defrost stays in effect for
21 minutes total on most systems.

thanks for the heads up on being careful.

one thing though.. this is a MANUAL defrost refrig. no timer heater or defrost thermo.

i just want to know if the plugs on the evap plate pry off so I can look behind the plate, don't want to break nothing.

I  do not believe so. But if you go poking around you might knock a hole in that evaporator. Get a hair dryer to speed up the process. Most of those ice boxs use a drawer below the freezer to catch the water.

Manual defrost fridges freeze up.
That being said...if it seems to be freezing up prematurely, check the door seals for tight fit.
Excess ambient air will speed up the freeze up.
