Hotpoint electrical - Short?

On my four-year old hotpoint, the light by the water and ice dispenser was on all the time.  The ice dispenser would put out crushed ice, even when set on "cube"  When I unscrew the lightbulb, a motor in the freezer compartment runs constantly - it might not be the defroster fan - sounds likes it a second fan, but it could be the defrost fan.  Any idea what's going on and what the fix is?

Pull the ice bin out about 4 inches and re-insert it. That should correct the crushed ice problem.
There is only one fan in the freezer. It should only be running to maintain your temperature setting, then cycle off.
Your door light switch may be defective with welded contacts in the on position.
