Kenmore Elite won't spin...

Hello all.... "MAYDAY" My kenmore washer won't spin... Motor runs but it will spin slow or not at all. At times if I give the drum a push with my hand it will start to spin but slow.... can someone please help?

Remove the cabinet or tip the washer back and look under it for a oily gear case/transmission.

I have that oily leak on the bottom..

The clutch sits on top of the gear case. If the clutch is oily it will slip and not spin the washer very good.

If the clutch is oily I would replace The Clutch.

This is driving me nuts...fyi I also checked the coupler but its good.
Question if not to much bother.... How does that clutch get oily & if so can I just take the clutch out & clean it up?

The oil maybe coming from the transmission.

If it is I would replace the transmission too.

My washer is 6 or 7 yrs old.....  so the clutch sits below the transmission?
