Stops at Spin Cycle

My washer stops at  the spin cycle, full of water. Seems like no power at all.
Resting to any cycle, anytime does not work. Short time later starts working.
Any ideas.

Check your lid switch for a good connection.

That's not it. No power after shutting down no matter what I change the dial to. Lid switch would only stop it for the spin cycle.

Something is binding up the motor. Could be  something in the pump, as they are all driven by the same belt under the machine. Is there a burning odor accompanying this situation?

While the machine is empty, unplug it and lean it back against the wall so you can see the belt and the 3 pulleys. You can easily slip the belt off with your hand, and turn each pulley to see if one of them is frozen up or difficult to spin. Report back, please.
