2 dishwasher touchpad buttons not responding

Hi,

We have a Kenmore 665.15829000 dishwasher with a faulty touchpad. The problem is that all of the buttons seem to work fine with the exception of the air/lock and start buttons. I understand I can replace the circuit board with this part (http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-665.15829000+-%3d%3dc212i940021&PartID=940021) and am prepared to do so but I want to make sure that this is the likely culprit.

My biggest concern is that the touch pads for those buttons are just not contacting. Is this very likely? If so I haven't seen any reference to replacing just the buttons.
