Our Matag front loading dryer recently (about 2 weeks ago) started squeaking so I took the fron off, vacumed all the lint, and cleaned the outer surface of the rollers with crud cutter on a rag. Didn't remove them. Then I shot some CRC Power Lube into the "bearing area" and a little on the idler bearing. Buttoned it up and the squeaking is gone for now.
So the question is; If a little lube gets rid of the squeaking, does that mean pulling the rollers off and thoroughly cleaning with alcohol and applying some teflon paste very lightly to the shaft will resolve the problem? Or does any sort of squeaking mean the rollers must be completely replaced?
