Water Leaks From the Door When Washer is Running

Now that I've fixed my washing machine, my brother-in-law has asked me to try to fix his.  He has one of those Maytag front-loaders (in that class action lawsuit) that is having a problem.  When it goes through a cycle, the front door "vibrates like crazy" and water leaks out the bottom of the front door.  I haven't looked at it personally, but does it sound like a seal issue or more than that?  He says the door is locked when the water leaks out.  If it is the seal, what part needs to be replaced?  The boot?

Just to update.  The seal looked good and I noticed that the door kind of bulged a bit when it closed so I just switched the door around so it opened from the other side and tightened down the screws.  That fixed it!   I'm thinking clothes must have lodged in the door during one wash cycle and caused it to loosen the screws holding on the door.   He was kind of ticked (but happy now) that he's been taking his laundry out for 5 months and all it took was a screwdriver.
