is it the sensor

My Maytag Neptune gas dryer will ignite sometimes and sometimes not.  when it does light it will work for a while then go out.  does this sound like the sensor is bad?  If so, is it something that I can fix myself or do you recommend a service call, considering it's gas.  that always makes me nervous.

Do you notice if the igniter glow bar still gets red, but no flame comes out after it has a flame the first time?

If so, then its likely your gas coils are bad.

These coils get hot and quit a while then they work some more. Replace em as Jake suggests.
