Kenmore Freezer Alarm

Help!  Freezer alarm is giving a random chirp (only ONE chirp that lasts about one second).  This occurs every 2, or 8, or 30 minutes or so....then maybe nothing for several hours.  This started following a very brief (5 seconds or less) power outage.  The yellow power light is on.  The red temp alarm light is off.  Internal temperature is 0'F.  Have tried changing the 9volt battery twice.  Have tried unplugging the freezer for 30seconds.  Am not noticing any unusual sounds or external temperatures.  Also tried turning on the quick-freeze option for a while, but the chirp continued.  Pressing the Alarm Off button also does not silence the alarm.  
I'm thinking the alarm itself is malfunctioning...suggestions???

I believe the alarm is controlled by a main circuit board.You can also consult the Frigidaire Freezer Service Guide for further info on how to access the part. I warn you, this is a huge file to download.

Parts for this model do not seem to be readily availabe at all sources, but Repair Clinic has the main board,  part # 216886000 and you may order it HERE.

My advice is to place a surge protector on that outlet.
