My dryer's timer won't shut off completely. The dryer works ok, but the timer keeps ticking and keeps moving. I figured it was a bad timer, so I put a new one on there, but it does the same thing as the old one. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this problem before, or might have any idea of what I should check. Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Does the timer not shut off on the times and auto cycles?

If the timer does not shut off on the timed cycle then you will need to check for power to the timer motor.

If there is power to the timer motor on the timed cycle you have a bad timer.

If there is no power you will need to trace it back to see were you lost the power.

Most often if the timer does not advance to off on the timed cycle the timer is bad.
