tch_tech, I think you misunderstood my post, Profit is fine and necessary to keep a business going, the problem I see is short term vs. long term thinking; not just the manufacturers, but the buying public also. We run across town to get whatever has the most features, even if most of these features go unused in our actual use of the product. We pass up a better quality product to get less quality that "looks like the better product" for a few dollars less.
In his comic strip POGO, Walt Kelly really said it best with the twisted quote of Commodore Perry, "we have met the enemy, and he is us"!!!
