Maytag Neptune MAH4000AWW

Aj,
I just joined this minute after finding this site yesterday and I am already a big fan of yours.  My Maytag Model MAH4000AWW has also stopped spinning and I did alot of reading last night on this site and you were very patient,extremely helpful, and offered some great links which helped out and I was impressed.  I had a friend replace the R11 and Q6 today and I went out and got a wax motor but there has been alot of talk about the when the wax motor and R11 goes bad the light inside the washer will stop working and mine has not.  Does this mean there might be something else wrong?

First I have heard of that.

I got it put back together but I have been afraid to start it up until I heard from you.  Basically the spin cycle sounds like it is trying to get up to speed but then powers down.  It does this over and over again but the light is still on inside the washer, so after reading the posts from yesterday I checked and found out that my R11 was fried and I just assumed it was because of my wax motor but now I have been leary of starting it up just in case its not and I dont want to damage the board again.  That is kind of where I am at.

If you have repaired the board and replaced the wax motor it is time to test it out.

The only thing I have heard about a light being related to this type of problem is the door lock light. This is the red light on top of the washer that lights up when the door is locked.

No light should have to be replaced when you repair the R-11 and wax motor.

Plug the washer in, start it up and let us know how it goes..
