Washer Tub overfilling

Hi,

I am unable to control the water level in my Amana model lwa50aw washer. No matter where the water level control dial is set, the washer fills to whatever level it wants, sometimes overfilling the tub, sometimes only filling to lowest water level, or anywhere in between.

If you can find the correct model number, a new water level switch can be odered. Based on my knowledge of Amana models, I would venture to say that your model number is actually an LWA50AW, and if so the correct part number for the water pressure switch is 40055101



Also, be sure your drain hose is not sealed off or mounted too far down into the drain line, or the tub will siphon water out during the fill.

Be sure that the plastic tube that connects to the pressure control is not broken and that you have an airtight seal at the tubes ends.

Also, take the hose off at the pressure switch, and blow in it, to be sure the sump is not clogged.

After you clear the hose of all sand and sediment and securely replace it on the water level switch be sure to pump out any water in the tub and then retry.
