Kenmore Upright Freezer not cold enough

In side temp of freezer was not going below 20 deg now it will not go below 30 deg. Compressor is running evap coil is not iced up replaced cold control.
What else could the problem be?

Y O0ou did make sure the evaporator fan is running?

I am having the same problem. The temp is 15-20 deg F. And there is a quarter to half inch of ice on the bottom of the freezer compartment. Is this causing the problem, and if so, how to I remedy it? If not the cause, any other suggestion(s)?

Your machine has a defrost timer. That means it also has a defrost heater and a defrost termination thermostat. One of these 3 amigos has failed. The timer is hung in run and therefore not advancing to defrost mode. OR the timer is advancing towards defrost and jumping into defrost fer 21 mins but ain't no heater action happening due to broken heater or failed bimetal termination thermostat. You should start yer own topic or the AJ police will get ya. They is everywhere

Ice is a plugged drain. I would melt the ice on the bottom with a hair dryer, then you see a star shaped plug in the drain area.(Center inside the rear panel) Remove the cap and then use hot water to melt the ice until it flows freely. Make sure you replace the cap. Don't want a frozen pea or something going down there.
