Maytag/Amana top load washer

 It wasn't the helix or the brake. The transmission was bad. The washer was given to me so I salvaged the good parts (used the motor already) and took apart the transmission. The center gear was stripped half way around. I have some good pictures but I'm having trouble downloading them. You gotta love the smell of gear oil in the morning!

Hi there, I have a couple of these units with the exact same problem, the center gear is stripped, however, I have been unable to find a part number or any way to order just that gear, or even the gear set.  Were you able to order a replacement for your center gear, or were you forced to order the entire transmission?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thank You!

 I never tried to find a gear. The customer wasn't willing to pay for a transmission replacement so the machine was scrapped.
