Great until winter rolls around and the house HVAC heat pump is on the heat cycle.

I would rather use a ground source system with a desuperheater. You could heat the pool and your domestic hot water.

We've gone through 4 gas water heaters in 12 years .We have a softener but they tell us its something in the water causing the bottom to rot out and leak .Thank goodness they are rentals and close to the basement floor drain .

Been through 3 in 12 yrs time, have well water , hard on tank, going to buy the marathon water heater next due to plastic tank & should last forever, I hope.
