Basement floor drain?

Not sure if this is a washer question or a plumbing problem, but I will post it here first.

Sorry if this is not the correct board.

When our washer drains the water out at the end of the cycle our basement floor drain starts to back up a little.

Does our washer drain the water out to fast or could there be a problem with the floor drain?

Your floor drain needs cleaning out.
It is not the washer.

Good to know I don't have anything wrong with the washer.

Now what can I do to clean the drain out, call a plumber?

You can buy a plumbers routing snake at any home improvement store and do it yourself. When that fails, call a plumber.

Will give that a try this afternoon and see if it help.

do NOT use drain cleaner if you have used bleach in the washer lately
certain drain cleaners mixed with chlorine bleach make chlorine gas (mustard gas)

The snake got the job done. No more backed up floor drain.

Most likely your drain has buildup in it and needs to have a snake ran down it. If you have recently bought a new washer like a front load or high Efficiency model they drain with a lot faster and sometimes you have to upsize your drain from 1 1/2" to 2"
