I would like to try one of the Fluke infrared thermometers someday.
Like the
Fluke 62 Mini Infrared Thermometer
or the
Fluke 561 Infrared and Contact Thermometer
.

I have the MT4 bought on ebay a few years ago...
one with an external K sensor would be nice.
same model numbers have different maximum temps...
some models have the laser pointer (used
only
for aiming)

They work well to find out how good a cleaning job on a condenser you did. Just run it back and forth, and look for the "hot" spots.

i have a small key chain IR therm i got from princess auto for 20 bucks on sale
its been flopping around on a 5lb key ring for years and still works
i use it to find hot spots in old stove wiring and fuse holders

A infra-red temp gun is to a contact thermometer what a volt-probe stick is to a voltmeter.
