I believe Craftsman hand tools have a lifetime guarantee, although so does Snap-On, and Harbor Freight.

If a socket or anything breaks, just bring it in, they'll give you a replacement on the spot (they used to)

Mine are mixture of names. Real Channel lock pliers, A Vaco adjustable wrench,Open end wrenches are mostly PROTO (very old & very precise)& Snap On. Vaco magnetic & non magnetic nut drivers. Stanley screwdrivers. When I graduated from Appliance Trade School I got a set of Craftsman tools, wasn't very impressed & as they broke the replacements got cheaper & cheaper. But the best tool box ever made by far is the PLATT suitcase style tool box. I have owned 5 in 30 years. They last a long time & very professional looking. Well organized so easy to find tools as always in the correct slot. A heavy durable outer no mark/scratch case.(for floors etc. the case will scratch etc.)I think the outer shell is actually a Samsonite suitcase shell reinforced .(It even has a spot for the logo) Very expensive,last one was almost $200.00 without tools. If you compare with a regular case they are expensive but worth it in the long haul if staying in the trade.

I use xcelite and love them ...Have had same set for 20 years .

There are many better quality tools than craftsman but few brands can provide better value than Craftsman.

Each toolmaker shines in some area EX. Klein= Electrical trades tools specifically pliers. Craftsman does very well on mechanics tools (sockets wrenches...)

When you consider the warranty service and the accessibility Craftsman should be in everyone's possession if not as a primary tool at least as a back up tool.

 I have had Craftsman tools and boxes for 16 years and have no complaints. When I worked in a machine shop my tools were used by me and whoever else decided to borrow them. They held up great and will last a lifetime. The only breakage I had was from using a large flat blade screwdriver as a pry bar and the tip broke off. I brought it to Sears and they gave me a new one, no questions asked. Make sure the tools say Craftsman on them and not Sears. I think they are different quality.
