F9 error code on maytag5780 gas range

I keep getting an F9 error code when I try to light my gas range, it will start to ignite and the inginer will turn red then it kicks off and the f9 error code appears...any suggestions?

Repair-man:
Your door latch assembly is bad. Had you provided a proper model number, the part would be researched for you. Your model is probably something like MGR5780xxx.
