Is LG the brand with the least amount of problems?

Looking at the other brands (Whirlpool, Maytag, etc.) here in the forum it looks like members have the least amount of problems with there LG appliances.

We have been looking at purchasing a LG washer and dryer in the near future.

Does LG have the least amount of problems with there appliances?

But remember, there are more (and older) Whirlpool and Maytags out there...


I've had my LG washer & dryer for about 16 months and no problems...

Most of the older washers had transmissions, etc..

Most of the new Front Loaders use Direct Drive Motors (but more electronics)

One of the complaints in the past with LG was finding a service person & parts.

That has improved, but before buying any appliance, check the service manuals online to see how it’s built, diagnostics, etc.
Find out who will service it in your area and if you ever plan to repair it yourself, check if service manuals and parts are available online.

Ive serviced a few LG appliances and the main problem is getting parts for them. They also tend to be on the edge of new technology and do things their own way. They load up machines with electronics (that is their main business) which cost a lot to replace. I would stay away from them because they use a lot of new technology that hasn't been proven yet.

We have the LG WM2688 Washer and DLG8388 gas Dryer.

We like them both.

They have nice LG Service Manuals on-line and I DL'd the Training Manuals and Videos awhile back when they were on-line.

Yes, they have alot of electronics (that is their main business),
unlike some other brands' appliance electronics (not their main business).

Some LG parts are available at SearsPartsDirect, RepairClinic,
MCM Electronics, PartStore.com, and other places.
