OK, looks like several responses, so let me tell you what I've checked. Once one of you mentioned checking the device and not the wiring, I made sure I pulled at least one wire off before checking anything for continuity. The 2 white thermal switches (one on the heater and one on the blower) are both good. The thermostat on the oppposite side of the heating coil from the white thermal switch checks OK. Based on what I read in the service manual, I checked what I THINK is the 160 degree thermostat on the front of the blower next to the thermal switch. It has 4 wires, black white, purple and blue. I checked continuity across the black/purple (per page 3-21), and did NOT show continuity, so I thought that was the issue. However, the guy at the parts counter says that this part would not keep the drying from starting at all, it would only keep it from getting hot if it was bad.
So, that's where I am now.
As far as a tech sheet, if you mean the wiring schematic, I found that taped inside the control panel, but am not savvy enough to know what any of that is telling me.
