Dryer makes electric sound and hard to start

I ve cleaned everything out lint wise.  When I start it, sometimes it runs and makes a louder than normal electrical sound when running.  When I start it again, it sits there and humms.  IF I hold the start long enough it will start to go.  This time it wont go.  I moved the drum a bit and still wont go.

Sounds like your motor is starting to seize up and probably needs to be replaced.

ah, that is what I thought it was.  There is alot of rust so I am assuming poorly vented.  I just aquired it last night.  And I had a Kenmore same model I scrapped just a week ago...should have pulled the motor.

Drill out the motor's cotton wells and load em up with Zoom oil. Work the motor free by hand. Sometimes I remove the motor from the machine. I mount the hex drive on my big vice. I wind up a piece of ski rope on the motor and snatch it like I am trying to crank a lawn mower. I yank that motor both ways a bunch of times. I put rust buster on there too. It will amaze you what you can do if you have the time.
