I have seen this problem where the washer gets louder and louder and it usually seems to be the rear bearing, but what causes the rear bearing to go out?

I have seen this problem where the washer gets louder and louder and it usually seems to be the rear bearing, but what causes the rear bearing to go out?

It be a Frigidaire?    No really It could be a few things. If the washer is in an area, that is not climate controled, or, excessive use.  Basically that's it.   

[Mr. Fix-It]

If you don't use HE soap in these washers the suds will rise up to the bearing and eventually infiltrate them.
