Maytag frontloader not spinning all of the water out

Every so often my washer seems to have difficulty spinning.  Sometimes I will get an "sd" error message.  It is now spinning, but the clothes are still so wet, I can wring water out of them.  The washer is only two years old.  What do you think the problem is?  Thanks!

Use less soap. Use HE soap. Open your drain valve and clean it out.

I am using HE soap.  I learned this because the washer seemed to be reacting negatively when I didnt use HE soap and no fabric softener.  However, this time, I am using both.  I will check the drain valve though.  Thanks for the reply!!
