GE Icemaker - water running over top of tray
« on: January 24, 2009, 08:17:16 AM »
Me and LOL were eating dinner last night an water starts dripping from ice cube dispenser onto the floor.

I began to investigate trying to determine if this is a problem with the icemaker unit or the solenoid valve. I think it must be a problem with the icemaker itself because I found that the tray is filling with water three times. Ice will dump then tray will fill and then a minute later tray will fill again and then a minute later tray will fill again and excess water floods over top of tray.

This seems to suggest that the problem is with the icemaker unit itself because doesn't it control when the signal is sent to the valve to release water?

Anybody know anything I might try to fix it? Is there any way to adjust the length of time that the water flows into the tray in order to not have it  overflow,  or should I just go get another icemaker?

Thanks to anyone who might be able to help!
