Check the element for continuity If Ok check the operating thermostat most likely the element they seem to be prone to burn out on GE's.

You might also want to check and make sure you have full voltage going to the machine. A lot of times I find with dryers that if ther is no heat it's a blown fuse in your fuse box. A dryer runs on 240 volts which is 2 seperate lines of 120 volts. The motor runs on only one circuit (120 volts) but the heating element needs 240 volts to work. So sometimes the dryer will run with no heat if one side is blown. However if you are on breakers this will not be the case because both circuits will trip together. Do you own a voltmeter/multimeter because you will need one to do the tests?

Thanks again mr. Fixit. I checked the breakers for the dryer and they are not tripped. I located a service manual and followed the diagnostic procedure, it indicated that the blower motor is ng, 0 rpms. My thoughts now are to replace the motor, which will cost about $120. I do not own any testing equipment to test the motor itself. Do you think it is the motor itself or its controller? Thanks so much for your feedback! :)

I read your post to say "no heat". Is your motor not running?
If so, check your voltage, then your door switch.

The blower seems to be not functioning, which does not draw air through the heating element so it does not get hot. The drum turns and shuts off if the door is open. I have ordered a replacement motor. Thanks so much for your input. :)

You do not need a new motor if the drum is turning. Are you sure about the blower not working? If so its either stripped and free spinning or your vents are plugged. Even then if the heater element is working you would sense heat coming from the dryer if you opened the door after it ran for a bit.

I have seen quite a few of these go bad.  Actually sometimes they will run for about 15 minutes before it cut off.  Replace it right of way.  If that air does not excape, it will cause alot of other problems.
