Whirlpool dryer sounds like it is starting then shuts down

My dryer sounds like it is starting for about 10 seconds and then shuts off. About 10 minutes later it will do the same thing on its own and again shut off.

Could be a built in feature to keep the clothes from wrinkling. But it is probably a timer gone hay wire if it does it all the time. The old wrinkle guard would dry the clothes and quit then wait 10 mins and start back up for a minute to keep the wrinkles out but once the door was opened it should quit that.

No, I believe the motor is bad. If you first turn it on, and it comes on, and then shuts off, and you try to turn it on  immediatly again, and it does not make a sound, and then you try it again 10 minutes later, and it runs for 10 seconds and cuts off it will be the motor.
